The new green space can accommodate 000’s of new trees and provide a fantastic, natural, and rich biodiverse environment for all of Gamlingay.

Transforming farmland into a useable natural landscape

  • Creating bio-diversity highways & new hedges

  • Extending the native species of Cinques Village Green (aka Common) in the tradition of the local ancient heathlands

  • Swales naturally manage rainwater, define edges and borders whilst enhancing biodiversity and interest in the green

  • Natural watercourses that do not surcharge to drains

  • The site and neighboring fields are an ongoing opportunity to return native species and wildlife to the site

Approaching Gamlingay Green

The walk towards the new green from the Cinques Road with a new path to enter the green. Cycle lanes could be accommodated behind the retained hedgerow.

Entrance to the Green

Improved track and visitor parking for East Lane, providing a two-way single style lane split with improved safety for residents whilst additionally aiding the case for speed reductions to 20-30mph on Cinques Road.

A walled garden would provide space to be allocated to the community. Bee’s, gardening, education, and produce are all potential uses depending on the community requirements.
