South Cambs Pre-Application response

Part of any planning process is that you can confidentially approach your LPA (Local Planning Authority), South Cambridgeshire District Council, who will provide expert planning advice and help you to understand and overcome any potential issues before you decide whether to proceed with a proper formal application:

You will, eventually, receive written responses from specialist officers which will:

  • identify the main planning issues for your proposal and how you could address them

  • tell you what you need to submit with your planning application

  • speed up the overall process of getting planning permission

  • reduce the costs of your eventual application

  • avoid applications getting rejected by us due to insufficient information or applying for the wrong type of permission.

Gamlingay, unfortunately, did not receive a site visit from the council planner, instead, we received just a short written report, and they were unable to provide any telephone advice or commentary.

The application should have taken a maximum of 4-6 weeks but actually took over 15 weeks.

For the 3 page response, you are required to pay a fee which was £1,500. The response is below.
